THE COLD EXISTENCE Parts Ways With Guitarist, Drummer
June 8, 2009Swedish melodic death metallers THE COLD EXISTENCE have parted ways with guitarist Thomas Backelin (LORD BELIAL, DEMARCON, SATANIZED, SNAKESTATE) and drummer Joakim Antonsson. The band says, "Joakim and Thomas left THE COLD EXISTENCE and wanted to concentrate more on their other projects. We wish them both good luck in the future. This is nothing that will affect the bands future. THE COLD EXISTENCE will continue as before."
THE COLD EXISTENCE released its second full-length album, "Sombre Gates", in March through Kolony Records. According to a press release, "bearing the legacy of DISSECTION, [THE COLD EXISTENCE's] blackened/death metal non-compromising sound is also reminiscent of such seminal bands as BEHEMOTH, NILE, AT THE GATES and HYPOCRISY. Willing to tour steadily through Europe, the band now relies on the super heavy and ultra-fast sound of an Andy La Rocque-mastered (KING DIAMOND) release. Black/death metal at its finest!"
